Organic Soup Kitchen of Santa Barbara

This morning we volunteered for the Organic Soup Kitchen www.organicsoupkitchen.org helping them prep vegetables for their Thanksgiving feast tomorrow. They are cooking over 100 turkeys and serving over 1000 people. OSK is truly an amazing organization and has lovely staff, volunteers, and community that it serves.
Make it a part of your practice, not just during the holidays, to serve the community. Find an organization that is congruent with your beliefs and serve from an open heart space.
The team at Genuine Chiropractic is so thrilled to have OSK as a community partner and feels honored to serve alongside these amazing individuals every day.

IN gratitude,

Go for the Goal

What are your goals? Instead of thinking that your goal is to lose weight or get out of pain think about your goals in a different way!
If you were out of pain or you dropped 25 lbs. what would you be able to do differently? If you were in perfect health how would your life be different?
Obviously living a pain-free life is very important to many people or on the flip side – people often “get use to” the pain and never get to fully experience their life. Many times, with chronic pain, people are living in a constant sympathetic state (fight or flight) and they do not know what they are missing.
My goal is to have every person living the life they have imagined. To be expressing their full and optimal genetic potential as a happy, healthy, and productive member of the community.

Healthy Weekends

What did you do this weekend that was a healthy lifestyle choice?

Personally, this weekend I went dancing twice – which is a great workout and worked out with my trainer twice, as well! Although my knee is still recovering from a recent injury I am careful to ice after my workouts and to properly care for it.
Daily movement is extremely important for your overall health. A family bike ride or walk is a great way to role model healthy lifestyle choices for your children, plus it can be super fun!

Let me know what you did this weekend, please post your comment below.
