Edible Landscaping & Ayurvedia in Santa Barbara

This week I have had the fortunate opportunity of meeting with some amazing, passionate leaders in Santa Barbara. Since January 2013 Dr. J and I have met with close to 70 health care professionals and business owners. Building a congruent community partner network is very important to us because we want to focus on the spine & nervous system in our practice and refer our patients out for everything else to the best people.
Earlier this week I met with the owner of Santa Barbara Foodscapes, Klayton Martin. This is a neat young company and they are creating and maintaining edible landscaping in the Santa Barbara area. Klayton will be one of the speakers at our next Women Cultivating Vitalism – Tend Your Garden workshop in May (date TBA). At Genuine Chiropractic we believe it is so important to know where your food is from and if it is possible to grow your own organic food. This is better for the environment and your own health.
Today I met with an Ayurveda healer, Aparna Khanoklar. She specializes in lifestyle and longevity from this traditional perspective. Her mission is to teach others about self-healing and self-love through a lifestyle of eating real food. We will be co-presenting a workshop at Genuine Chiropractic www.genuinechiro.com on Wednesday, June 18, at 6pm.It will serve as an introductory course to this style of healing, which I am personally very excited to learn more about.
With each meeting health is rising in the Santa Barbara community. It is very special that there are so many dedicated business owners and health care providers that are dedicated to collaborating so that everyone benefits. It is rewarding as a doctor knowing that our patients have so many tools and opportunities to improve their health from a vitalistic, holistic point of view. Are there any community partners you think we are missing in our network? What and who are you looking to connect with in Santa Barbara? Please provide suggestions and make comments below this post so that we may serve you better.
